Thomas Burton, CPA is one of our firm’s super-star tax managers. He graduated from Weber State University where in the beginning, he knew he wanted to go into business but then he really enjoyed his first required accounting class. While still in school Thomas was able to work as a staff accountant for a business and decided that the tax world was for him. He likes that he can work the crazy hours of tax season but then have the flexibility the rest of the year to do the fun things like his goal of climbing to the highest peak in all 50 states! Thomas really enjoys helping people to understand their tax position and feels that communication is the most important skill an accountant can achieve. He says that it is much harder to teach someone to communicate than it is to teach them accounting! After April 15th, you can find Thomas on a pickleball court or soccer field, playing board games or vacationing with his family.
